The first and second commandment. I dunno about y’all but when I was little I was taught the ten commandments. So little. Really they focused on the first three. Or two.
So, in-depth, character check.
Is God first place in your life?
If not, why not?
You gotta change your attitude and your heart.
Who and what do you think of most of all, all day long and in your dreams?
Who and what do you think of first when you wake up and when you go to bed?
God, is the right answer.
If not, it’s OK.
It’s this simple.
When we first started bible study when I was in my twenties, we were taught what sin was. We were taught a way to stop sin. First, you take one sin at a time and deal with it. Eradicate it, one by one. Until one is gone, do not move on to the next one.
So, the first commandment. No other gods before me.
Wow, this is huge, right. It encompasses most of who we are already. Let alone all the tid-bits that cause more separation from the Lord.
So, who is first place in your life?
Come again, whom?
Life application is most fun when you participate.
Now, what is the focus.
The first commandment.
I am the Lord, your God, a jealous God. There must be no strange gods before Me.
We’ll not go to taking the name of the Lord Thy God in vain.
