Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)
12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

We live in a quick fix world which is going at the fastest pace it has ever been going today which makes staying in the race at breakneck speed so difficult when you are in your sixties. The young are so impatient for their three minute microwave noodles. Everything for them is a quick fix but it is like building a house on top of sand and not the ROCK of our salvation. Passing the baton is so much harder. People like Millie who is ninety who never gave us anything of any use seem like too much trouble to have around. To them. Such is the heart of our young. Our children in this time. How in fact will they make it. We are instructed to pass the baton and finish strong. The distance between a to z is widening. The question is will they ever catch up. The issues of the heart is more than they ever were. The secret things that only the LORD knows. They manifest eventually but there is never a quick fix to anything in God’s kingdom. It takes work. Hard work. In the study of God’s word so that we live obediently in line with Scripture. The baton. Anyone who has run in a relay race knows how important timing is and working together. It is doing your part. Every section of the relay is different and is run differently. I was second. The straight. I found it very difficult. I loved the curve. It seemed I was running faster. We are all to do our part. Study the word. Do not just read it. There is a lot that comes out of studying the word that convicts. It’s a from glory to glory walk. Here we see the little heart of stone that we all possess if we are walking in conformance to this world and not to Scripture. Note the little and not big. How dark. No one can change man’s heart except the word. Jesus is the word. You can only know how to live the abundant life when you are in line with Scripture. The plumb line. Do not be deceived. No one can save except Jesus. You can say I just want to be a ‘just make it past the cross person’. I want the best of both. Past the cross and Jesus’ presence on HIS throne with every single breath that the LORD gives me to work out my salvation with fear and trembling.
