I Met A Jewish Man Called Dan

Hosea 1:10-11
10 [d] Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered. And in the place where it was said to them, “You are not my people,” it shall be said to them, “Children[e] of the living God.” 11 And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint for themselves one head. And they shall go up from the land, for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

It was one of these exciting days when I could not understand what this meant so I went throughout the day thinking about it in my mind. No one has to be perfect only available to listen to God. I met up with a Jewish man and shared that I see Jesus. In the Pulpit Commentary there is an explanation. Anyways when I left the young man after laying hands on him I heard, be still and know that I AM God and I will be exalted among the nations. So here I go on on to Chapter 2 of Hosea. This is fun. So I asked if he comes from the tribe of Dan but he said it’s been so long now, we can never know who comes from which tribe. He speaks Hebrew and only knows the Old Testament in Hebrew names so he had no idea which Old Testament book I was talking about.

On Day 3. Busy with Hosea 2. Is Hosea speaking or the Lord or it’s Hosea and the Lord, or the Lord through Hosea. Coloured it Hosea as the speaker but then in verse 9, it’s a capital M for My. So …………… plodding on. The commentary says Yahweh but Hosea told his children to tell their mother. Then it’s a parallel about Israel’s disobedience in Baal the Cannanite god. Just plod on and if I get it wrong by colouring Hosea when it’s supposed to be the Lord, I will know when we get to the study next week.

Just bought a folder and some stickers of flowers for my Hosea study tonight.
So inspired by Dayspring’s stickers for Scripture. But with all the reading and breaking down of the chapters into small titled divisions, I’ve no time to colour my observation worksheet beautiful. But O perhaps in the passion of the word, I may just just just colour it beautiful and buy more stickers to glorify the Lord creatively.

Was able to pick up some colourful tape for my observation worksheet and I shall check my colour pens. Black for sin. Brown for the world. Blue for the Lord. Pink for Jesus. Red for God’s anger and wrath. Purple ????

A New Commandment

31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, n“Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Be doers of the word. 

My husband and I have been adopted into an elderly group in our area in MacDonald. They are the original housing estate families. From grandparents to grandchildren. We talk about cooking and family life and life here in the street and old stories of their lives. New friendships with the original elderly population of old. My husband even taught one of the grandsons how to write essays. This fifteen year old was desperate to learn.
We made new Christian friends from other churches when we buy our sweet mangoes and freshly baked bread for breakfast. My husband likes an iced cold coffee.
Will take a pic next time of the group of ladies who have adopted us into the street family. Learning about the housing estates here. Government housing. A new thing. Interesting. Bond with the community. My husband with a coffee and me a Perrier with lemon.
We have also got a line of favourite restaurants and they welcome us by serving us huge portions and lots of iced iced tea in this heat here. Actually, we are accustomed to bonding with the local community this way as my husband used to be in charge of three or four islands and we spent all our time with the fisher folk. So much so that we could walk around the island at any time of the night and were safe. This is easy.

1For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles…

2Surely you have heard about the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. 6This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus.

7I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace, given me through the working of His power. 8Though I am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9and to illuminate for everyone the stewardship of this mystery, which for ages past was hidden in God, who created all things. 10His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11according to the eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul’s Prayer for the Ephesians

14… for this reason I bow my knees before the Father,a 15from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I pray that out of the riches of His glory, He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of His love, 19and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, 21to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

We are blessed beyond measure, this is what I heard when I woke up. Jesus told me this. It’s so true. We just cannot see it. We just lose sight of …. Jesus. How funny and strange for us seers. Or is it just this seer. I never lose sight of Jesus. He is ever present. Never leaving me nor forsaking me.

Our children. We have children and they are a product of how much we believed in what we were doing when we were doing it. Or how much we now believe in what we believe in and doing it. 

For me personally, it would be, You mesmerize me, Lord Jesus.

I think God’s know everything about us before we even actually existed. He planned our lives according to how we would choose what we want and then ….. I just think God is amazing. 

Indeed we do not have all the answers to our past, present nor our future but we know this. God loves us. That He sent His one and only Son that we might have eternal life in Him and with Him. 

All else are the incidentals. 

I’m having lots of fun in my life. A life that my Father so planned so intricitely and intimately with my in mind. Or is it with Himself in mind.

One of my Facebook posts is from our main office and it says that we must try to preach in a more creative way. I sometimes do not understand why why why my SLR are not enough when I approach it in an original way. My own way. The ways of my heart and not a copy cat of others. I’ve always ever been like this. O perhaps it’s my experiences when I needed to find a way into the pocket so I needed to create a new way of approaching, well, the ball, into the pocket. The best scenario is at its best when it’s a new way into the pocket. I found this when I bowled all over the world. Create the space with all that I’ve learned. So I practice this in my preaching and life in itself. There is so much of the same same. I just like being different. An original. Of course not where the Word of God stands which is forever and ever and ever keeping the Word in my heart. Close to my heart.

All else are the incidentals for if in fact you are not deeply in love with Jesus then nothing will fall into place divinely. Divinely spoken by the Lord. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Do you know how much Jesus loves me?

He shows me Himself. In His glory and in His suffering as my Bridegroom and humble Servant.

Fight The Good Fight Of Faith

1Timothy 6:12 (ESV)
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

2Timothy 4:7-8 (ESV)
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but to all who crave His appearing.

 

It is so easy to be lazy and not plod on in the good fight of faith in Christ Jesus and stagnate in the same place you have been in and just stay there. I love to plod on closer towards my eternity in Christ Jesus with Jesus. After experiencing such wonder in His presence, the desire of my heart is to know Him more in this place.

When I was young, I just had a dream. Just a dream. I did not know that this dream was put into my heart by the Lord and as I continued to pursue this dream of knowing God intimately, I found Him. 

I see the world working hard at things that are worldly but not eternal. I seek after the eternal things and this is too because the Lord has put them into my heart for we are saved by grace so that none may boast but I only boast of Christ crucified. 

So when all is going well and then I think perhaps I shall stop as I have come so far that none other is in this place with Christ our Lord but me, literally speaking. And then, my heart is prodded by the Holy Spirit to move on higher and brighter and nearer and dearer to Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Greatness of God

I’m a natural mountain top person. Born this way. When I got this test when I was bowling at the institute, the graph showed that I was mostly on the highs. I do not naturally go low. There was this graph two years later of this other athlete. Her graph is opposite to mine. Full of lows. Boy was Trisha angry. I have never seen her angry in her life. Never saw the lady again. Think she is not a mountain top person. More like a low person. When I was a teenager, I would go up to the top of the mountain top, the peak, with my friend and her two dogs daily and we would stand up there and scream and yell and jump happily. It surely was fun. Now of course I am standing on the rock of my salvation, Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

It’s all about God’s love for us. So I wonder, how come He knows each and every one of us individually. As individuals. None alike any other though we may have been brought up in the same place in the same time and yet our experiences and our hearts and our motives are so different from each other. Like, how can a God like our God handle so much. He is infinite and has no beginning and no end. He does not do time but time is in His hands forevermore. And yet He can do all of us, all the time. At any time. And we are all individuals. It is just so amazing. No one is like me. Yet, no one is like each other. He crafted us all as individuals and then of course as the sermon says, unless He calls us to His side, there is no way we can seek Him and find Him only by His grace so none of us may boast. We only boast of Christ crucified.

So this morning when I awoke, like, here I am right, right up close and personal with Jesus and kissing His lips and then I pray, ‘O Lord Jesus, blow Thine holy breath over me. Into me. Breathe into me that the life that You have given me, may have more life than the life I have just now. Blow Your Spirit into me Lord Jesus. More more more more more.’ And then I just sorta rest and believe.
